Remote Desktop Connection-Windows

With Remote Desktop Connection, you can access a computer running Windows from another computer running Windows that is connected to the same network or to the Internet. For example, you can use all of your work computer's programs, files, and network resources from your home computer, and it's just like you're sitting in front of your computer at work.

To connect to a remote computer, that computer must be turned on, it must have a network connection, Remote Desktop must be enabled, you must have network access to the remote computer (this could be through the Internet), and you must have permission to connect. For permission to connect, you must be on the list of users. The steps below include adding names to that list.

Tip
To find the Remote Desktop Connection shortcut, click the Start button , click All Programs or Programs, and then click Accessories. To quickly open Remote Desktop Connection, open the Start menu, and then type mstsc in the Search box.

Mobile Number Portability (MNP) is the facility for users to switch to any mobile operator in the same Licensed Service Area (LSA), while retaining their existing mobile number . Sim card and all services on the mobile connection will change and will be provided by the new operator.

Request for porting

I. Contact the new mobile service provider to whom you want to port your  mobile number.
II. Obtain Customer Acquisition Form (CAF) & Porting Form.
III. Read the eligibility, probable reasons for porting rejection and other conditions carefully.
IV. If eligible, fill up the CAF and Porting Form. For filling up of porting form you need a ‘Unique Porting Code’ (UPC)

V. To obtain UPC send SMS from the mobile number you want to port to the number ‘1900’ with text ‘PORT’ followed by space followed by your 10 digit mobile number you want to port. [ As pre-paid SMS is not permitted, in Jammu & Kashmir the subscriber has to dial ‘1900’ to get an UPC, the operator at ‘1900’ provide the UPC after verifying subscriber number with CLI. ]
VI. It may be noted that you will receive an auto generated 8 digits UPC from the Donor operator. The first two characters of the UPC consists of ‘Alphabets’ and remaining 6 digits will be numerical characters except
zero.
VII. Submit the duly filled Porting Form and CAF along with requisite documentary proof to the mobile service provider.

1.Normally file copy happens in a single thread, which takes more time, which happens much disadvantageous in case of dual core processors or higher ones. But ,in order it to make a multi threaded program with n number of threads ,you can specify “/MT[:n]” in command line. The optimal value of n will be equal to number of processors.
2.Press the Windows key and type Gpedit.msc. Go to Computer Navigation -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Application Control Policies -> AppLocker. Right click on one of the options and create a new rule.Through this, you can block the users of executing vulnerable scripts and other harmful executables.
3.Effective power management can be done by pressing the Windows Key and typing “POWERCFG –ENERGY –OUTPUT <path\filename>”,which will create a file called energy-report.html in the folder. You can then view the power options for all devices and can compare with the specified ratings.
4.Hold down Shift, right-click the drive and “Open in New Process” which can open even a folder as a new process if it can cause you a crash and terminate all your works.

Radio License

I A Radio License  is an official licence required in many countries for the reception of  radio broadcasts or possession of a radion. It is a form of hypothecation tax to fund public broadcasting, thus allowing public broadcasters to transmit television programmes without, or with only supplemental, funding from radio and television commercials.

Cadre Review and DOPT’s Guidelines

As per the DOPT guidelines, cader reviews are supposed to happen every five years.

The DOPT directed that the following points to be followed by the Cadre Controlling Authorities formulating proposal for Cadre Review.

1.The proposal for cadre review may be formulated in accordance with the guidelines and instructions issued by the Department of Personnel and Training and Department of Expenditure.  If there are any deviations, full justification therefore may be given.

2.The proposal should begin with a brief background of the Service and the development which have taken place since last cadre review.

3.It should contain the requisite data in prescribed proforma.

4.All contents may be chapterised suitably.

5.The abbreviations used in the proposal may be clubbed alphabetically in a list at the end of the proposal.

6.Full justification may be given individually for each upgradation/creation of posts, especially those at S.A.G. and higher levels.

7.While sending cadre review proposals to Department of Personnel & Training, the Cadre Controlling Authorities may indicate precisely the functional requirements of various categories of posts and group them in terms of duties and responsibilities.  This can be done by conducting a general job evaluation exercise, which would help in ensuring that different grades in a cadre reflect distinctly different level of functions and that higher posts do have higher level of duties and responsibilities.

All India Strike - February 28

The working people of the country have by now in full gear to go on a one-day historic general strike on February 28. All sections of Indian workers, in every corner of the country, have been preparing for this united action for the last three months.

HISTORIC OCCASION
The decision to go on a day’s strike, as is well known, was taken in a national convention of central trade unions and industrial federations in New Delhi on September 7, 2011.
On that day, all the central trade unions recognised by the government of India came to a joint platform for the first time in the history of independent India, to announce a day’s general strike.
This was to press for an agreed charter of demands  which covered policy issues as well as immediate demands of workers, both in the organised and unorganised sectors.
