Q: What are the minimum requirements for Symantec Antivirus?
A: For a Windows machine, you need at least an 256 Mb of RAM, 64 Mb of hard drive space, and either Windows XP (Home or Professional), or Windows Server 2003. For a Macintosh computer, you need at least OS X version 10.1.5 or higher

Q: My computer runs exceptionally slow after installing Symantec Antivirus for Windows. Why?A: Symantec Antivirus Corporate version 10 for Windows includes a new startup scan which will check critical files upon startup. People with older computer systems might experience a slowdown upon startup while Symantec performs the scan. To disable this scan, open Symantec Antivirus Corporate and click on "Startup Scans" on the left hand side. Select the "Auto-Generated Startup Scan" and press the Delete key on your keyboard. After deleting the scan, restart your computer.
Q: What is Antivirus and Antispyware Threat Protection?A: Antivirus and Antispyware Threat Protection prevents infections on computers by scanning the boot sector, memory, and files for viruses, spyware, and security risks. Antivirus and Antispyware Threat Protection uses the virus and the security risk signatures that are found in virus definitions files. Computers are also protected by blocking security risks before they can install. This is only if doing so would not leave the computer in an unstable state.
Q: How do I update my computer?A: It's a hassle free process as users need not to update their computers. Symantec update all its client computers automatically.
Q:How do I scan my Computer?A: By default scanning has been scheduled for 4 PM daily. However user can scan their computer according to their need. STEPS: 1) Double click on symantec icon on the task bar. 2) Click on 'Scan for Threats'tab which is on the left. 3) Click on 'Create a New Scan' that is highlighted with blue color. 4) Select the type of scan you would like to perform. 5) Click on 'Next twice' and select the time when you want to scan the computer.

Q:I am trying to uninstall the managed version of Symantec Antivirus. What is the password?A: The password for removing the managed version of Symantec Antivirus is not provided to the users. However you can contact NIC Antivirus team.

Q:I am unable to install Symantec Antivirus?A: Click on the below mentioned link and then click on download software. Then select your location and download the package.

Q: While installing Symantec Antivirus it rollback. What to do?A: Click on 'Knowledge Base' and then click on 'Clean wipe'. Save it on desktop and run. Once it is completed it will automatically restart the computer. So before running the removal tool, make sure all your applications and files are either saved or closed.

Q:How to check whether my antivirus is up to date or not?
A: Double click on the Symantec antivirus. A new Symantec window will be opened and on the center of the page 'Definition' dates would be mentioned. It will always show yesterday date

Q: In a day how many times my computer receives updates?
A: Once in a day.

Q:I am unable to remove the previous antivirus or old version of Symantec antivirus?A: Click on 'Knowledge Base' and then click on 'Clean wipe'. Save it on desktop and run. Q:I am getting message that Traffic from ----- IP has been blocked. What to do?A: The File which is being ransferred from the IP which is displayed in the massage contain virus and need to be scanned
